Slim Barrett was the only British winner of the De Beers Diamonds International Awards in 2000. His prize-winning design, 'Cascade', is a chainmail bib necklace consisting of 336 diamonds that can fold up into the palm of one hand.
Originally designed as part of his Chainmail collection, the necklace weighs 93.24 carats and is made of 18-karat yellow gold.
Bespoke chainmail jewellery pieces are available to commission in 18-carat gold, sterling silver, antiqued silver or bronze, featuring rope lengths ranging from one to five rows.
